Shoal Group are based in Butterfield Business Park, Luton with an additional site in Tetbury, Gloucestershire (Specialist Wiring Accessories ‘SWA’) and a manufacturing facility in Plymouth (Birch Valley Plastics). The Role

We are looking for a committed and hardworking marketing individual keen to join a growing organisation and be part of an expanding team responsible for all marketing activities for Shoal Group. 


In this Digital Marketing Executive role, you will collaborate with a dynamic marketing and ecommerce team to develop and execute our digital marketing strategy. You will create engaging content, manage social media channels, and optimise our online presence to drive traffic and sales. Your role will involve analysing market trends, and utilising data analytics to measure and enhance the effectiveness of our marketing efforts. 


Strong communication skills, creativity, and a passion for staying updated with the latest digital marketing trends are essential. Proficiency in tools such as Google Analytics, Adobe Creative Suite, and various content management systems will be highly valued.

Key Accountabilities

Although not exhaustive, the key duties and responsibilities of the role are as follows:

  • Help manage and maintain the Shoal Group eCommerce platforms, make suggestions to constantly evolve and improve the user experience, promote our capabilities, offer and services

    • Create and upload copy and images for the websites

    • Design and implement new website banners and visuals

    • Conduct keyword research and web statistics reporting, developing strategies to improve the site’s SEO

    • Use web analytics software to monitor the performance of our websites working (in coordination with our third party support partner) and implement recommendations for improvement

  • Create, write and dispatch digital marketing campaigns on time, to prepared target contact lists (Email, PPC, SEO, PR, and Social Media campaigns)

    • Work with the business to manage the contact database that underpins lead generation activities – create target contact lists

    • Keep up with current digital marketing trends and research new online media opportunities that may benefit the business

  • Contribute creative and written content to social media engagement, industry blogs, company blogs, videos, photography and brand awareness campaigns

  • Produce in collaboration with the Marketing Lead and Senior Management a monthly and annual marketing plan that supports key sales growth initiatives and works within the agreed financial budget constraints 

  • Report monthly back to the business on website performance and digital marketing campaigns and their effective ROI 

  • Learn, understand, and embed yourself in the group and Shoal Group brands to build and maintain brand awareness and positioning 

  • Closely coordinate with external agency partners including web development, technical support, PPC, SEO and Creative, Campaign design teams 

  • Collaborate with Shoal Group cross-functional teams to produce effective marketing materials and campaigns 

  • Develop schedules and set/maintain your own goals, tasks, and deadlines, as well as continually developing your own knowledge and skills 

  • Assist with other marketing duties, such as proofreading marketing copy, preparing and organising external trade events, and other ad hoc tasks.  
     

Candidate Profile

  • 3+ years proven experience in a Digital Marketing role

  • Experience within a similar industry (technical products/components) is desirable

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with high attention to detail and previous experience writing marketing content

  • Experience of working with eCommerce (Magento) and email marketing (i.e. Dotdigital) platforms would be a strong advantage

  • Experience and working understanding of SEO, PPC, HTML and their drivers

  • Experience assisting with the creation of marketing plans and successfully implementing them and creation of creative and written content marketing assets

  • Experience reporting on (evaluating) website and marketing campaign performance

  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritise, work to tight deadlines, and must be organised, and able to work well as part of team

  • Good all-round IT skills: Microsoft Office suite, Adobe InDesign and Photoshop applications experience essential

  • Professional and Academic qualifications will support any application (such as a relevant Degree, Chartered Institute of Marketing Qualification or similar)
